There once was a crooked man
Who walked a crooked mile
He found a crooked sixpence
Upon a crooked stile
He bought a crooked cat
Which caught a crooked mouse
And they all lived together
In a crooked little house
And every night he lay on his crooked bed
Dreaming crooked dreams and snoring crooked snores
Visions of a life not so crooked
That he knows will never come true
As he wakes up from his crooked slumber
He cries his crooked tears
And yells crooked wails
Wanting a life not so crooked
He's tired of this crooked life
Crooked dreams, a crooked love, and a crooked family
Why can't life be straight, he wonders
Why must I be so crooked
There is no such thing as the straight and narrow
Just crooked and jagged like the cracks in a road
But the crooked man doesn't accept a crooked life
So in the end he leaves this crooked world with a crooked neck
Woe to the crooked man, who tried to love and live straight
But always found the crooked path, and followed it with reluctance
There is no such thing and a straight and narrow life
We all live the life of The Crooked Man.
