Chapter 26: Finding the Swords and the Battle

Midna’s POV

We enter the Sacred Forest Meadow. “This place is a lot different now…” I hear Time and Allanon say. I laugh at them. “You two are stuck in the past, huh?” I ask. Allanon looks at me and smiles, and Link nods. “You know me, Midna. Je suis un ècrou histoire.”* I laugh. I did know how much Allanon was into history. He was addicted to it. Time and Link look at him funny. “What was that?” Time asks. “It was Twili, but where did you learn it?” Link answered. “From Midna, actually. Wolf, you remember when my portal messed up?” Link aka Wolf nods. “Well, Midna gave me a parting gift. I am part Twili.” He shows them his left arm. It was the same as mine would have been, if I had been in my normal form. “I had no idea my magic would do that…” I say, ashamed. “Pas besoin d`avoir honte, Midna. Je suis heureux en fait. Il m`aide dans le crepuscule.”** Allanon says and I smile. We reach and enter the door to the past. We appear in the Temple of Time. “I always loved this place.” Allanon says. Time nods and goes to get his Master Sword. After he returns, we head out of the Temple. We pass the door this time and Link gets his sword. As soon as he drew it, however, several Twilit Messengers appear. “Not these damn things again…” Link groans. “We can take them!” Allanon says. Time nods and kills one of them. I toss Link the Twilight Shard and he turns into a wolf again. I land on his back and charge up the energy field. I was surprised when it encased the rest of the Messengers in it and Link kills them all. “How..?” I ask and see Allanon put down his arm. I smiled, knowing it was him. After transforming Link back to normal, a man appears. “Hmph! I was hoping those Messengers would at least weaken you. No matter.” “That voice…You!” Allanon says and pulls out a sword. “Cody Avalon…we meet again.” The figure turns around to reveal a normal man. “Garret Bradshaw! How did you get here?” Allanon asks. “I was originally from here, as you were. I have come to kill you.” Garret says, transforming into a dragon. “First off, Garret, my name is Allanon Silverwind, Hero of Blades! And second, I will be the one to kill you!” Allanon cries and changes swords. The dragon charges and Allanon jumps away. He charges and slashes the dragon, but the blade bounces off. “Ha! I knew about Dragonslayer, you fool! You really thought it would be that easy?” the dragon laughs and throws Allanon away. He hits a pillar and falls to the ground. “Farslayer howls across the world, for thy heart, for thy heart, who hast wronged me!” Allanon cries and throws his sword. It pierces the dragons scales and kills it, but not before the dragon burns Allanon to a crisp. The dragon also says, “You forget the end, Silverwind.” Allanon replies “On the contrary, Garret. Vengeance is his who cast the blade, yet he will in the end no triumph see.” The dragon and Allanon stop breathing. “No!” I cry and fly to him. “Quick! We must take him to Zelda!” Wolf cries. I use my power to transport us directly to her. Zelda cries out in shock when we land in her tower. “Midna? Link? Time? What are you three doing here?” she asks. “No time! Please heal him!” I cry. She sees Allanon and immediately comes over. She looks him over and says, “I cannot heal him normally. I’ll have to…” Zelda concentrates and starts to glow. (She is doing what she did to me! I have to stop her!) I cry in my head and reach out to stop her, but I am too late. Zelda disappears and Allanon wakes. “What…?” Allanon says, confused. He looks around and notices where we are. “Don’t tell me…” he looks to me and I nod. Then I hear Allanon say things I never thought he would say, “Non! Merde cette femme! Fils de pute! Pouquoi at-elle fait ca!”*** “Allanon! Elle vous a sauvè la vie! Be grateful!”**** I say. Allanon hangs his head. “I am sorry, Midna…let’s go.” Before we leave, Allanon says, “J`ai pris tout ce que vous avait à donner, même si je n`ai pas eu la chance se le nier.”***** I warp us to Hyrule Field and a familiar golden barrier surrounds the castle. All of us growl at the barrier, but Allanon sighs, “…Come. Back to the Mirror Chamber.” He warps away by himself.

Chapter 27: Fighting Zant Again and Searching for Allanon

Midna’s POV

We appear in the Mirror Chamber, but Allanon was nowhere to be seen. “Where did he go?” Time wonders aloud. “You two, go kill Zant, I’ll look for Allanon.” I say. They nod and I go searching for Allanon. I jump down to the entrance of the Arbiter’s Grounds and see footprints leading towards Gerudo Desert. (I’ll find you, Allanon.) I think to myself and float after him.

Time’s POV

“I’m glad we don’t have to go through everything I had to go through to get to Zant.” Wolf says. I nod. I was relieved as well. We enter Zant’s chamber and he looks up as we enter. “Gah! You got here quicker than I expected! No matter. I will kill you all…wait…where are the other two?” Zant says. “No reason to tell you, scumbag.” Wolf says. I hear the anger in his voice deepen. (Wolf…calm down before madness takes you.) I say in my head. Somehow, he hears me and nods. Zant takes us to just outside Castle Town and starts to fight. “Man, this guy is tough!” I say, blocking another whirlwind attack. “Too much for you, old man?” Wolf asks, easily blocking a whirlwind and hitting Zant in the process. Somewhere deep inside of me, my old powers surface and I knock Zant to the ground. I use the Ending Blow technique to finish Zant off. He explodes and we appear back in the Mirror Chamber. “I didn’t know you had that in you…” Wolf says. “Not so old now, am I?” I laugh. “Come on, let’s find Midna and Allanon.

Midna’s POV

I keep following the tracks and they lead me to the Cave of Ordeals. I enter and carefully float into the first chamber. I look down and see the bodies of the monsters that used to inhabit the room. “Oh my goddesses…” I say as I look at the bodies up close. They had been torn apart by some strong force. I start to fly faster. (I know Allanon is here somewhere.) I get to the 49th floor and see him battling four Darknuts. He holds out his arm and the Darknuts explode. I stare in horror as he continues to rip them apart. He heads into the last room and I follow. He sits down on the ledge and breaks down. I float next to him and sit. “Midna…” he says softly. “Ne dites pas n`importe quoi. Je sais comment vous vous sentez.”* I say to him. I return to my true form, but don’t notice. Allanon looks at me and gasps. “What is it?” I ask. “Look at yourself…” I do and jump for joy. “Yay! I’m normal again!” Out of happiness, I kiss Allanon. After I realize what I had done, I say, “I’m so sorry…” Allanon grabs my hand. “It’s ok. We are family…family can kiss one another, right?” I look down at the arm he was holding me with. It was his Twili arm. “Family…” I sigh. My family was killed by Zant. Allanon did not know this. “Allanon…my family is dead…Zant killed them.” Allanon holds my face and looks into my eyes. He starts to quote, “Avec cela, je vous rends mon frère et protecteur.”** I remember the words and the bracelet flashes slightly. “We are a family, Midna. You shall never be alone…oh and you are going to marry my son, anyways, so…You are actually my daughter.” He kisses my forehead. (How did he know about my marriage?) I ask myself. “Come; let’s go help the others defeat Ganon again.” He says. I nod and warp us to Time and Wolf.

**With this, I make you my brother and protector.

Chapter 28: Defeating Ganon Again

Allanon’s POV

Wolf, Time, Midna, and I stood, facing Ganon in the castle. I notice Zelda up in the Triforce. “You guys want to know something funny about Ganon?” I ask. “What?” Midna asks. “He always puts Zelda just above him. You would think he is a pervert.” We all burst out laughing. “What is so funny?!” Ganon demands. “You! You fat oaf!” I cry, laughing harder. “You are a pervert, you know that?” Time says. “Stop looking up Zelda’s dress!” Wolf cries. “You really are an idiot!” Midna says, as Ganon finally catches on. “Whose idea was that?” He demands, looking flustered. “Mine!” I stammer, still laughing. “You will pay for that one, Silverwind.” He says and takes over Zelda’s body. He stands in front of me and I laugh harder. “Now what?” She/he asks. “Now you’re taking advantage and looking at yourself? You are a sick man! Maybe they should call you the King of Porn!” Everyone was rolling. Ganon tries to hit me, but I block his blade and cut his forehead with Soulcutter. There was no mark on Zelda’s body. He looks at me in surprise. I turn serious and say, “The Tyrant’s Blade no blood hath spilled, but doth the spirit carve. Soulcutter hath no body killed, but left many to starve.” “Hmph.” Ganon says and throws a magic ball at me. I jump back and let Time handle this part. Ganon falls and Midna squeezes Ganon out of Zelda. He turns into a giant boar and Wolf transforms as well. Midna changes into an Imp to help him. After Ganon falls, they both transform back and stand next to Time and me. I see white balls of energy leave me and enter Zelda. I feel weakened and Zelda opens her eyes. “Princess…I…I…” I stammer. “Say nothing, Allanon. Your heart and mine were as one, however briefly. Such suffering you have endured.” I look down. Zelda turns to Wolf and starts to say something, when we hear laughter behind us. “You thought I was going to die that easily?” Ganon says. “No, but we were hoping.” I joke. Midna starts to use the Fused Shadow. “NO!” I cry and try to stop her. I am stopped and Wolf, Time, Zelda, and I are warped to Hyrule Field. “Midna! Vous fille stupide. Vous tromper. Damn it!”* I cry. Hyrule Castle explodes and I see Ganondorf on his black horse. He crushes the Fused Shadow and charges us. Anger engulfs me and my Twili arm turns red. It enlarges slightly and I stand ready. Zelda sees me and places her hand on my arm. I don’t even feel her. “Spirits of Light! In my hour of need, grant me the power to vanquish evil!” All of us disappear just before Ganon gets to us. We turn around and see Zelda. She was holding a quiver of Light Arrows. “Heroes of Blades, Time, and Twilight! Lend us the last of your power!” She holds out her hand. We take it and are teleported back to the Field. Wolf and Zelda are on Epona and Time and I are above, watching. We watch as Wolf and Zelda shoot/slash Ganon until he falls off the horse. Time and I float down and Ganon comes towards me, shutting everyone else out. I pull out Shieldbreaker and stand ready. “An impressive looking blade…” Ganon starts but I cut him off. “You will destroy the Light over my dead body!” “Hmph. Puny Hero of Blades. You are no match for me.” Ganon laughs. “Ho intenzione di rimandarti all`inferno, dove si appartiene!”** I cry. Ganon charges me, angry that I addressed him in his native tongue. I lock blades with him and his blade cracks slightly. He doesn’t notice. I push him back and jump away. He rushes me again and I smile. I lock blades once again and this time the blade breaks. “How did you?” Ganon cries as he steps back. “I shatter Swords and splinter spears; none stands to Shieldbreaker.” I say and knock him off his feet. “Allanon, catch!” I hear both Wolf and Time cry as they throw me their Master Swords. I sheathe Shieldbreaker and catch the swords. They resist a moment, but calm down. I use the Ending Blow on Ganon and he screams. I jump away and he stands. “Do not think this is over…The history of Light and Shadow will be written in blood!” He sputters as he coughs up blood. “Your power is no more, Evil King.” I say as his Triforce leaves him. I hold up my arm and say, “Puissiez-vous brûler en enfer.”*** I use my Twili magic to implode Ganon and the Swords fall to the ground. My anger was still flaring. “Allanon…please calm down…he is gone.” Zelda says. “He killed my daughter…how do you expect me to calm down!” I shout at her and she shrinks back. Wolf looked like he wanted to kill me, but doesn’t move. I hear a noise and look behind me. Up the hill, I saw a figure. I instantly knew who it was and shot towards it. My muscles protested as I went but I made it to the figure. Midna stands and turns to me. I run up to her and hold her in my arms. “Je pensais que tu ètais mort. Ne jamais faire ca à moi.”**** I cry into her shoulder. “I’m sorry, Allanon. I had to.” Midna says, quoting me when I saved her life. “The Twilight Realm is destroyed. Come, you can live with me until it is repaired.” I say to her and we warp home.

*Midna! You stupid girl. You fool. Damn it!

Chapter 29: Allanon Almost Dies Pt 1

Zelda’s POV

Allanon and I had decided to go to Lake Hylia for a swim. Jarred was with Midna, and Sarah was in Castle Town, shopping. Before we could get into the water, however, I notice an army of Bulblins on the Great Hylian Bridge. “Allanon, look!” I cry. He turns and sees the army. “Zelda, I have to go.” He says. “No! If you go up there, you will surely die!” “I’ll be fine, trust me.” The Bulblin Leader raises his sword and points it at Allanon. Allanon does the same. “What..?” I ask. “He issued a challenge and I accepted. If I had not, he would have marched to Castle Town and killed everyone.” Allanon explains. “Just…be careful.” I lean up and kiss him. Allanon uses a portal to get on the bridge.

Allanon’s POV

The Bulblin Leader cries and his army charges me. I grip Shieldbreaker and charge as well. I sidestep an attack and kill one Bulblin. Two more swing at me, but I jump over them, slicing open their heads. I spin attack as I land, killing off at least twenty more. The leader cries again and the Bulblins stand back. The leader holds out his blade. I lock mine to his and say, “May the better warrior win.” The leader nods and jumps back. I do as well and look to Zelda. I could tell she was crying. I look back to the leader and charge. He does as well and horizontally slashes. I duck and lunge forward to stab him. Unfortunately, he kicks me in the gut and slashes my back. I jump back and fall to one knee. I could feel the blood trickle down my back. It had started storming. I look to Zelda. She was sobbing. I stand up and face the Bulblin leader. He charges me and I charge him. Our blades lock and we push each other. “This is where you die, Hero of Blades.” I hear the beast grunt. I push the beast back and earn another slash, but to my front this time. I went down on my knee again and knew I was finished. Before the beast hit, however, I felt something on my hand and I block the attack. The leader jumps back and I look at my hand. I saw the Triforce appear on it, but the middle shined. I felt the strength return to me and I stand. My sword fills with power and I notice the Bulblin leader’s sword did the same. We lock blades again and neither of us could budge against the other. I push harder and an explosion occurs.

Zelda’s POV

An explosion went off exactly where Allanon had been fighting. “NO!” I cry and teleport onto the bridge. I see a lone figure walking out of the rubble…

Chapter 30: Allanon almost Dies Pt 2

Bulblin Leader’s POV

I walk out of the rubble of the bridge and cry in triumph. My army cries back. Suddenly, I feel a pain in my chest. I look down to see a blade. It was Shieldbreaker! “I don’t go down that easy.” I hear the Hero say. “When two beings that use the power of the Triforce face off, neither can win alone. But when two fight along side each other, the loner is destroyed. I now know that as long as I have Zelda by my side, I shall never be destroyed by Ganondorf’s minions. I now hold the Triforce of Balance. The Triforce that keeps Power, Wisdom, and Courage in check.” The Hero says. “I understand…” I say as I fall to the ground. “Take this…Hero of Blades. It will aid you in the upcoming battle…” I hold up a glowing blue orb. As the Hero takes it, my body expires.

Zelda’s POV

After hearing what Allanon said, I run to him. “You had me so scared!” I say. “I’m sorry, love. I will try to not do it again.” He says. “See that you don’t.” I say. Allanon suddenly wraps his arms around me. “Never leave me…” he says into my shoulder. I look at the back of his head in shock. “What makes you say that, Allanon?” He says nothing. I notice that I was supporting him now. “Allanon?” I ask. He still does not answer. I look at his side and see him losing blood quickly. I almost scream. I knew that my horse was not going to be fast enough to get us to the doctor. I focus my energy and call out. “Midna, can you hear me?” I hear, “So you figured out telepathy, huh?” and a laugh. “Midna, there is no time. You must come to me, now!” I could tell Midna was shocked by the demand in my voice. She appears beside me and says, “What? You demanded me here just to see…” I cut her off. “Look at his side.” She does so and gasps. “Oh…” She says. “Can you get us to the doctor?” I ask, hurriedly. Midna nods and warps us to the doctor. I barge in the door and the doctor exclaims, “Whoa! Slow down!” I look into his eyes and say, “This man is dying! Help him!” He looks at Allanon and his eyes grow wide. He leads me to a bed and I lay him down. The doctor checks his heartbeat. “How is this man still alive?” he asks no one. He tells me to wait outside and I do. As I exit the doctor’s, I find myself face to face with all of our friends and children. “Is dad going to be alright?” Sarah asks. “He is going to be fine, dear.” I could hear the uncertainty in my voice. “I’m sure he will pull through, young one.” Auru says. I feel a pain in my left hand. I look at it and see my Triforce glowing. I notice the other Triforce bearers hands were glowing as well. “What is going on?” Malon asks. “I do not know.” The other Zelda says. Our hands die down and I hear the door open. I turn around and the doctor looks up at me. “He is going to make a full recovery. I don’t know how, but he will. I have never been too good at fixing Twili.” It felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I didn’t even hear the last part of his sentence. “Thank you…can I go to him?” I ask. The doctor nods and I enter the building.

Chapter 31: Remembering

Allanon’s POV

I wake to an intense light. I close my eyes against it as I hear someone come up to me. I hear a gasp and I look towards the noise. There stood a woman. She was my age, I thought, and had a worried and surprised look on her face. (I think I know this woman…but I can’t place her.) I think to myself. “Es-tu celui qui m`a sauvè?”* I ask. The woman looks shocked. She tries to speak, but starts crying instead. I hear a door open and another woman is standing by my bed. This one, however, was a Twili, like myself. “Pourquoi cette femme qui pleure?”** I ask her. The Twili shakes her head and turns to the woman. She speaks in a language that was both foreign and somehow familiar to me. She turns to me and asks, “Qu`est-ce que vous vous souvenez?”*** I think back, but my memory is blank. I shake my head. The Twili sighs and says, “Je veux que tu viennes avec moi. Je vais vous aider à mèmoriser.”**** I nod and she holds out a hand. I take it and am teleported to the Twilight Realm. I was standing, but had to lean on the woman for support. I look over the realm and am shocked. It was destroyed. “Qui est responsible de cela?”***** “Ceci a ètè causè par un homme du nom de Zant.”****** The woman replies. “Zant…” I repeat the name. A memory passes through my mind. I see a man with a fish helmet strike down the woman. He hits her and she falls, cursed as an Imp. The red bracelet around her wrist shines brightly and the memory vanishes. “Votre nom est…Midna, c`est exact?”******* I ask. Midna nods. She then warps us to someone’s house. I have another memory play in my mind. “What do you think?” a man asks the woman that saved me. “It’s perfect!” She cries and hugs the man. The memory fades. “Cette femme…Zelda!”******** I cry. “Je me souviens! Midna, qu`ai-je fait? J`ai fait me femme pense que je l`ai oubliè. Et je n`arrive pas à parler règulièrement non plus.”********* Midna looks at me and smiles. “As soon as you tell her you remember, you should be fine. Look, even your form is returning.” She says. I look down and sure enough, my regular body had returned, except for the arm. I try to speak, “M…Mid…I…have to apologize. I…have to…” I break down. I start to cry on her shoulder. Midna, being my daughter-in-law, was at a loss; not having comforted someone before. “It will be ok…hey; I thought father’s never cried?” She says, trying to cheer me up. It worked. I chuckled and wipe away the tears. “We can cry; we just try to hide it from our children.” I say. “Come; let’s apologize to Zelda, shall we?” She says. I nod and we head into my house. I see Zelda on the couch, crying. “Zelda…” I say. She gets up and turns to me. “Allanon…you remember?” she asks. “Yes, and I keep kicking myself for ever letting myself forget.” I say, ashamed. Zelda rushes to me and embraces me. “Just don’t do it again.” She says into my shoulder. “I’ll try.” I say and we all get some sleep.

*********I remember! Midna, what have I done? I made my wife think I’ve forgotten her! And I can not talk regularly either.
